ReeferGuard is a tubular steel frame that mounts to the bottom of the reefer unit. ReeferGuard has been tested and approved to withstand the impact of a tractor that has misaligned while maneuvering underneath the trailer to lock into the 5th wheel pin. This protects the Reefer unit on the trailer, which can be very costly in repairs should an impact occur without the guard. In addition, Reefer Guard has a protective 1 inch tubular high compression foam padding, covered with a ballistic sleeve that is very resistant to harsh weather, petroleum and tearing. This sleeve also has a highly reflective D.O.T. tape stitched into the sleeve, thus offering a better visual at night and two way protection to both the reefer unit and the tractor. We have worked with the D.O.T. while testing the ReeferGuard, in order to line up with all the guidelines.
